hi everybody :D , i have a question. yesterday i was feeding my ball and when he grabbed the mouse he grabbed it from behind and swallowed it feet first, is that a bad thing ? :? (the mouse was a live fuzzy)
-
If he got it down, i wouldnt worry about it. Sometimes they just get it backwards ;). Have you tried pre-killed or f/t yet? These are the best way to go, in my opinion.

The legs don't fold properly if they eat them backwards like that, but with a small meal like that I wouldn't really worry.

thanks, i tried doin frozen once (they dont sell frozen mice at my pet store so i had to kill them myslef) anyways i waitied till he was more hungry then usual for the first try, i lowerd into his feeding tank and he struck but i think he hit himself on the tongs and got scared and let go i was really scared that it will discourage him from doing it again but ohh well i will try again in a few days..................any good places where i can order frozen mice online ?? i hate killing things.

Its not a big deal, though its probably more stressfull for them. Elysia ate her second meal with me butt first, and he had alot of trouble getting past 1 of the feet, but after she got past that she was fine.

www.rodentpro.com is a popular source.

www.Rodentpro.com sells in bulk though, and unless you have a snake that isn't going to switch food very soon, or more then 1 snake eating that particular type, its probably not a good idea to get from them. However, I'm just talking about the bags of 100 and 50 mice, not the smaller portions of rats, which is probably a good idea to get from there since they are in like 5's and such. I will always get mine from my local breeder ^_^
