    Snappers
I have been keeping and raising snappers for about four years and i am taking my first step into albinos i am planning to get some possible het snapping turtles and am not sure if the risk of them being normal is worth the price of them.(relatively cheap imo)

not sure what you're asking, and i know nothing about snapping turtles or how long they take to reach breeding maturity or how much they cost, but buying possible hets is always a gamble. i would make sure to get pictures of clutch mates that actually were albino, that way you at least know for sure the parents were true hets.

That is what the breeder said he would send me pics of the clutch to show the albino babies to prove the parents were two hets. What i was trying to say is the price of three possible hets worth the gamble of getting an over price regular snapper.

depends on the sexes, I've often bought groups of possible het females, I wouldn't spend money on a possible het male though, you'll want to buy at least a het male if not a homozygous one.

If the parents are both hets, the babies are only a chance of being het. One of the parents needs to be an albino for it to be a guarantee.

I thought this was going to be about fish, after reading the title. I got a tad bit hungry. Lol.

Snapping turtles on the other hand, sound fun! Good luck with your venture!

I know about genetics the parents are both hets and the hatchlings should end up being het normal or albino.
