    question about baby feeding techniques
Ok so how long do you all go before you assist feed a baby ball python? Also before you reach that point what all tricks do you like to use in attempts to get a picky eater to eat?

    Thanks Kindly,

From the start..... I leave them all in the egg tub until they have all had their first shed. I set them up in their own tubs with aspen bedding and crumpled newspaper to fill in the extra space. I give them 3-5 days and then I offer their first meal, a live rat pup. Typically they eat on the first attempt. If they don't I give them 2-3 weeks depending on their body condition. If they start looking skinny I assist feed a f/t pinky.

a lot depends on the look of the hatchling, weight when it came out of the egg. but an average hatchling is around 30 days before assist feeding.
