    What the heck just happened?
I know when your snake is wheezing, you need to take action, but my snake didn't wheeze. I opened my snakes tank to handle him just for fun cause I had nothing better to do and lifted up his hide and couldn't really see him and I think startled him and he made almost like a little squeak? Like a very very soft squeak, he did it like twice and at the moment he's slithering around on my bed, flicking his tongue, and being normal. Should I be worried is this a RI? I don't see how my snake could have a RI, I don't have an access of humidity in his tank, I just do daily mists with a spray bottle and my hot side is at 90-93 and the cool is 81-84?

I would guess you just spooked him.
If godzilla ripped the roof off your house and pulled you out of bed you'd squeak too !
Don't worry too much but double check your temps and watch for signs of R.I .
I'm sure others with more experience with this will chime in.

Brock has the right idea. Mine gets a little huffy/puffy sometimes when I get near or open his cage. You'll see then exhale real quick and usually it's just an audible exhalation of air. Sounds like yours forced the air out so hard that it made a squeak type noise or it may have "whistled" around a piece of shed or something.

Watch for signs of RI and keep an eye on him anyway just in case. But your guy should be fine.

Magnus always gets a little huffy when I'm getting ready to handle him, but I avoid startling him by using slow, deliberate movements and running my fingers along his spine to let him know I'm going to pick him up. That way I don't scare him out of a dead sleep or anything. =]

I made the mistake of scarring my boa out of what appeared to be a dead sleep....if looks could kill I would be a dead man lol...she was not happy with me at all.

lol Sounds like you scared him while he was sleeping. All my snakes have done that at some point. With colubrids at least (still new to BPs) RIs sound more like a clicking sound when they first get started, with actual wheezing and mouth-gaping coming at a later stage.
