Feeding and soaking?

I thought my BP had mites, but she hasn't been in her water bowl, for the 4th straight week that she has ate.. she goes into her water bowl right after? I haven't seen anybody post that this is normal and I'm not quite sure its mites because of the fact its only after she eats? Is eating triggering the mites to start moving or become more active or is my ball just weird

What substrate are to using? I'd suggest switching to paper towel so you could easily see the possible mites.

If shes in her water dish, you should also be able to see drowned mites in the dish as well.

If there are no mites, I'd check your husbandry. Could be too hot.

If husbandry is fine, and she is mite free, I wouldn't worry. She might just be weird ;)

I meant to say she hasn't been in her wAter bowl at all since a day after her last feeding. She's only in it after she eats, nd maybe the day after

She's on paper towel. TemPerature is right. Everything seems fine nd she only dOes it after meals.

Through a bunch of research I read something about snakes soaking after eating. A couple of sources said that it might help distribute temperature evenly over their body which helps with digestion. Maybe that could explain it.

My girl does the same thing, could be a couple of weirdos.

I took her outta her bowl and it looked like I saw one mite maybe, very little black dot I could squish.. Why does it seem that the only time shes aggravated or soaking is after eating? I'm going to take her to vet next week so

Usually when BP soak right after a meal it is due to the size of the prey, if the prey is too big they will soak.

Now they soak for other reasons a well mites being the most frequent, insecurity etc.

Very interesting thread, I've never heard of this. If I find any information aside from what has been given I will post but I will be following so as to learn anything that may come of this. I hope it isn't mites! Good luck pal!

She/he will be going to the vet today in about 6 hours, hopefully they will be able to tell me, the sex, roughly the age, and if she has mites or if there is another reason she is soaking.

well she was actually eating fuzzies, and I heard they can take hoppers right outta the egg, so I have been feeding her two fuzzies on meal day and she takes em no problem
