Is this too big for my 5 month old male ball python?

Maybe it's me, but I think it might be too small lol. Do you have any better pics of your ball?

Looks fine to me from the pictures. Feed him food that is as wide as his widest part.

It certainly isn't too big. If anything it might be a little small, but it is hard to tell form the pictures.

Yeah it looks like he could take down two of those lol. Is it a hopper? One of the biggest feeding mistakes new ball owners (myself included!!!) is underestimating the size of prey they can take. It's amazing how wide they can open those little jaws. Like others have said, give it something that's the same or just a tad bigger than he is around. Or if you have a scale, 10-15% of body weight.

I Guess my next question is, How long should I let it Thaw for? I Got it from the feed store. This website says 2 hours for Mice hoppers.

Sounds about right.

Make sure it is warm all the way through before you feed it. A partially frozen rodent will not be good for your snake!

I let him sit out in a bag for 2 hours in room temp, put him in a zip lock, submerged in hot water from tap for 2 minutes, presented and BAM!

Congrats, nothing like a successful feeding!
