Looks like a alligatorwas found in a creek, Middle River MD

Just saw it on WBAL 11. Some visitors to Seneca creek in Middle River were swimming/ fishing when they saw little beady eyes belonging to a 2ft juvi alligator. Now DNR is on the case and if they can't catch it tonight they are going to set traps for it. They say they don't know if it was a pet or not but come on, since when do we have alligators running around?

Looks like someone no longer wanted to care for it or- it got out of it's cage and found the pond. What cracked me up were the people that were deathly afraid of it attacking them :lol: This just adds more fule to the fire of people owning herps.

Something reptile cool in MD! This is a good example of why people should not go and get the impulse herp buy. When that cute little foot long aligator turns into a 5 or 15 foot monster, you start looking like food :shock: :twisted:

Precisely! And to be quite frank, It looked more like a caiman than an alligator. It just doesn't look like an alligator to me. Who knows though, could be an alligator. I wish people like the person who owned said "alligator", would not buy herps! It just makes all of the RESPONSIBLE herp owners look bad :evil: !

People often buy these caimans when they are small and cute and when it bites their finger off or eats the family cat they dont want it anymore. Herps like these are not meant to be pets. Same goes with burmese pythons and other large pythons and also venemous species. Reptiles are very simple creatures they are built to eat and have a very strong feeding response. There was a guy here that bought caimans and got rid of them because he said they were "not allowed". If it does turn out to be a caiman our herpetoculture is in danger of more rules and regulations.
