Before you give me a ton of links to sexing videos and tutorials...I have read/watched ALL of them. I make the "stop" at the vent. Move halfway down the tail and roll. I can only make one side evert its pene. When I get one pene out very gently, I can apply a little pressure and it rolls out like a snail eye.
Could someone give me some tips on what I am doing wrong. I feel like I will break them if I put too much pressure on there. I am only able to pop hatchlings. Anything over 300g and I can only evert one pene. Maybe its just because of my little woman hands lol.

    Hey,

I had the same problem at first, very concerned about hurting them but that's why the stop is so important. The big concern is that you could prolapse the rectal area of the cocla vent. But the hemipenes in male snakes are in the base of the tail so you don't have to worry too much as long as you have a good handle on your stop. That second pic is a lot better. Looks like a female :).

I'm not seeing a pene.. Popped hemipenes look like 2 long pinkish white antennae. It's quite obvious. With you're right thumb, try to roll downward and inward toward the vent with some pressure. You need to work the penes down and out if they are there. If you only get 2 fleshy pink lumps, it's a female.

    1st pic no penes
    2nd pic one pene
    The 2nd I know is a male
The 1st I am unsure of the sex as I cant evert any penes
I posted a pic of the 2nd snake to show the difference in results I get. I can evert atleast one pene on both my other males but not the 1st one.

Yes the stop is made right before the vent when you pull back on it a little and then push down to create a "wall".
