    Bluebonnet Herp
    Comparison between Morelia spilota ssp.
I'm a bit curious how, aside from size differences in adult specimens, do people ID a carpet python subspecies, specifically between coastal carpets and irian jaya. Of course, the size gap between mature specimens of the two is much different, but if its a juvenile, that matters less, and you either have to have the breeder's word on it or you have to ID it from its appearance. So, how would you go about doing that?
Also, if it isn't too much to ask, could someone post a picture or find one that has a side by side comparison of all the subspecies, or most of them? Or at least Irian Jaya and Coastal Carpets? I'd like this for my- and other's- future reference. Any help on at least pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated as well.

Unfortunately, I don't have side by side photos of my own. This site, though, should help you out:
http://www.inlandreptile.com/ If you're into subspecies and locality specific carpets, Nick Mutton is pretty awesome.

If you like books, I have and seriously recommend The Complete Carpet Python:

And I'm sure someone can help you out with more. Hopefully the links work.
