    Incubation causing color/pattern changes
I have done a lot of research in preparation for my first breeding season and on several occasions I came across references to color and pattern being influenced by incubation temperatures. I am curious to know more about this. I was wondering if any of you out there have experienced this first hand, and whether you could post more about it on this thread. Photos, of course, would be very helpful, as well as the temperature/problem you encountered! This might turn into an interesting thread for many people to follow if we get good feedback! Thanks :-)

Temp and humidity issues can both cause "incubation effect". It's typically a drippy/melty pattern. Or really out there reduced patterns.

I have had issues with my incubator since day one... ugh.. never got over 88.. NEVER.......:( there were a few times I thought we were gonna loose all the eggs.... my babies havent shed yet.. but I think we have a normal with reduced pattern..... all are cloudy and blue eyed so when they shed... and i get BETTER pics.. maybe someone can tell me if my humidity caused what i have... :) Its been a learning experience thats for sure :)

Yes. here is a female lesser that I struggled to keep my incubator right one season and when I cut the clutch I see this egg. Breeding is a lesser X normal

here you can see the discoloration on the egg caused by the incubator fluctuating.

Well the animal crawled out and I thought it died so I put it in a deli cup till I got home becuse non of the yolk had been absorbed when it crawled out. I get home to see this in the deli cup

Thank you for all this great information so far! Does anyone have pictures of the "drippy/melty" pattern caused by incubation issues? The reduced pattern is interesting, it does make for a "neat" looking snake! Has anyone documented strange spotting on the head? I ask this because one of my female breeders (currently a dinker) has completely whacky pattern and 4 very distinct spots on her head. Someone mentioned it could be caused by incubation problems, I hope it is genetic... But it did make me curious to see what patterns are out there that are known to be caused by incubation issues!

Thats the best example of a Lesser i have ever seen. If not told otherwise I would have put everything i had the was a Lesser Pastel. And temp issues caused this?!! What temp do you run your incubators?! aha
No seriously, what temp do you run your incubator?!
