    Large Malaysian Monitor?
    Not really sure what this guy is and I wished I'd been able to see him for myself but my friend James in Malaysia is on vacation with his family at Juara Beach Resort in Pulau Tioman and this was under their cabin to greet them. Looks almost like a komodo dragon but wasn't sure what he might be at that location. They are native to Malaysia and are a common food source apparently for the locals.

    I thought so though James' family thought he was crazy trying to get pictures of a giant lizard. He tried to get better shots but apparently they can be rather dangerous so that was as far out as he was willing to lure it. Any idea what species it is?

    Unfortunately no, I love the big monitors, but I'm not very familiar with the different species.
