International Herpetological Symposium 2013

I just found out about this event, being held in New Orleans from July 31-Aug 3. This will be the 36th year, but I can't find much information about it online in terms of attendance numbers, how pleased people were with it, etc. I am in California but have got a sudden inkling for a vacation, but this will be a big and pricey trip if it turns out to be a bust...there's also the first International Arboreal Collective Symposium in Maryland around the same time, but I figure if I go to IHS and it turns out to be a bust, then at least I'd be in New Orleans!

Anyone have any experiences or insight to share about either of these two symposiums? Any and all information is welcomed!
