    Feeding
I bought a female ball python on Monday. The seller said she fed it one mouse a month, she is about four feet long. I have not weighed her yet. However I tried to feed her a med/ small rat . She has eaten two of them. Can I feed her like this for a few weeks to get her to a healthy weight. Or should I stick to one rat a week? I have no idea why she thought that it was fine to feed this snake one mouse a month, and then complain that the female failed to produce eggs for her. Thanks for your help.

A small rat a week should be fine. Some weeks she might not take it, but that is ok. Offer it to her every week and she will eat when she is hungry.

I would only offer her one small weekly until she's back up to weight. Too much food in too little amount of time can shock their systems and they can regurge. Hopefully she keeps those rats down. Next time, just do one small once a week and she'll be fine.
