    Average BP weight???
    Hi All,

My bp is about 3 years old and a little over 42 inches long. Not sure on sex but I'm feeding 2 small/medium rats every 2 weeks. Enclosure is a 40 gallon breeder tank if that matters.

What I'm trying to figure out is what is a normal weight for a bp of that age and length? I haven't measured girth around but if I had to guess it be between 6-8 inches and I don't remember the weight from last time weighed.

Any ideas would be helpful so I know what'd normal and can adjust accordingly if needed.

    Thanks

If you can get a scale, try to weigh your snake as well as show us a picture. Body condition is one of the best indicators of if it is the correct weight. Generally, if you can see the spine it's too thin. It sounds like you're feeding it fine, though I would feed 1 small weekly. Smaller more frequent meals are better than large, infrequent meals.

picture was taken about 2 weeks ago before its most recent shed. I have a scale just did not weigh it before this post.

Based on that picture, the snake looks to be at a good weight. For one snake that you are not trying to breed, it's helpful to know the weight so that you know what a healthy weight/baseline is if the weight fluctuates due to lack of feeding or illness, but in general what exactly that weight is is less relevant.
