Yesterday, when I opened my cricket-bucket to feed Shaggy, a bunch of teeny tiny flies swarmed out! EEWWWW!

I wash the bucket thoroughly between cricket batches (about once a week) so I'm guessing they came with my latest bunch of crix. If anyone has any thoughts on preventing that, or info on how common it is, I'd be apreciative.

Do you feed your crickets fruit? Could it possibly be fruit flies? Don't know what else it could possibly be. Good luck with your endeavors!!

I feed that gut-load gel stuff, so I know the flies didn't come in that. But who knows what they feed at the pet store?
