Just wondering if any of you multiple snake keepers have a favorite snake... I'm thinking this thread could help out a handful of newbies that are looking for info on a good tempered snake.
For me, I currently own one BCI, one California Kingsnake, and 4 Royal Pythons. My favorite is definitely one of my ball pythons, my female Peanut. Not so much for her looks, even though she is one gorgeous ball python, but her temperment is what keeps me interested. She's the only snake I have that displays any form of personality in my opinion. Always happy to be handled. It's almost as if she realizes she's lucky to have an owner that cares about her. When she was still new to me, she displayed every normal ball python behavior... from hissing, to "balling" up and hiding... Now it's actually odd to see her in a hide. She loves to be out in the open, as if she knows she's being closely admired :).
Here is a photo that was taken a while back, one of our ball python of the month winners.

What's your dream snake(s)?
I feel too guilty picking a favorite, but I enjoy handling my corn, Mex Black King and BP the most. You can't really handle sand boas the same way since they are burrowers and my Cal King has an attitude.

It is so tough to choose! I would have to pick Goblin. He is pictured in my avatar. he is just the biggest baby in the world when handled, and his appetite is infallible. he has never struck at me, never hissed while in my care, and must weigh over four pounds!

Damn, these two cute cresties are so adorable... But I'm sticking loyal to Goldy. She is the bomb. High gold, striping. Her scales are unusually silky smooth too. She's a thick female, tons of muscle. She is very outgoing too, not head shy a bit.

I cant choose between my left or right eye. Gosh, Merry gets jealous if I hold Pippin too long.

Man that's as tough as picking a favorite kid - talk about put on the spot. The most mellow snake in the house and easily most enjoyable to deal with is our son's Black Blood - neither a shy nor mean bone in his body.

My favorite crestie is actually pretty easy, because Scooby likes me best so I return the favor. Of the snakes, Snyder would be my favorite I guess, after nursing her through her troubles, but each one has something special about it, just as my kids do.

smulkin... i understood baby black bloods to be nippy as hell. you guys get lucky or are they all pretty chill?
i've always wanted a blood, the girth just makes me nervous. never gotten to handle an adult in person to really know if i'm capable.

I'd heard the same Will, not sure how much an exception to the rule this instance is as it's the only Black Blood we've kept. I was real heistant to let him buy it based solely on my experience with the Reds, but the breeder popped him out and handed him over and he was as calm as you could ask. Maybe he is just that "special" heh.
The little red blood we have now, wow. Kali is coming along damn well - no more striking at everything intruding into the cage, handling better all the time. The lil guy on the other hand - twice as bad as she ever was and king of ambush, very cage defensive very aggressive very fast but I think in time and with the same techniques used on Kali, he'll come around just fine

My male water python is my favorite, hands down. He "runs" to me every time I open his cage. He loves exploring. Very curious and very sweet. My female liasis, however, is as mean as can be right now. I'm hoping she's just adjusting to her new home (I've only had her for 10 days now).
