I really need to just go ahead and listen to y'all the first time I get advice. While too early in the game to call this a complete switch, Amber took her first small rat today. She has been eating large mice and growing really fast, however it didn't seem like the mice were being a good meal for her, as she has started to get somewhat thin as she grows.

    So much for that!

As far as the bedding in the box, it was necessary to try and get her interested in the rat. All those pieces that were on the mouth fell off as that part of the rat went down, I was a little worried though. I doubt that it would have been harmful anyway even if it did.

It just amazing to me, she's only a Jan '04 hatchling!!!

It always amazes me to see a snake take down something that is SO much bigger than its own head! Cool pictures!!

Great job on the rat switch. I'd make sure to flick the shavings off of the rat as the snake swallows. Congrats! Well, er, congRATS. :)
