Is my snake blind?
I do not have pics to show sadly. A little back story. I got her for free. The previous owner posted on Craigslist that he could no longer care for her. When I picked her up she was ice cold in hamster bedding with a burned out heat lamp, no water, and an 80gal tank. I also found out he had not been offered food in 4 months and ha only been fed live rats way too large for her.
I put her in a smaller tub correct for her size. Aspen bedding, UTH pad with thermostat. She would take her first feeding until I switched to med rats frozen. Now when I hold her I see one eye is half white and has scar tissue around the eye socket. She also shows no reaction to anything on that side. Her other eye has a scratch down the middle and she shows very little reaction on that side. Any advise how I could test her vision to confirm if she is blind?

The best test would be a vet visit. Sounds like she's in some rough shape.
Barring that, something I've seen others do is a pupil responsiveness test, like what doctors do in humans to check pupil contraction. Shining a flashlight into the animal's eye should cause the pupil to contract. If it doesn't, further and immediate treatment by a veterinarian is needed to prevent it from getting worse if possible.

The worse eye I can't even see the pupil. I will try it on the better eye. Thank you.

Ouch, just reading that broke my heart. You should of beat with a hammer. I'm glad she's at least going to be taken care of now, so that's good.
Best of luck with whatever you find out.

I have 4 BP, 1 water dragon, 3 turtles, 2 cats, and 2 dogs that all came from bad homes either being neglected or abused. I've learned that people can't change and I need to focus on what's best for the animal
