    First weigh in!
Finally went and bought a good digital scale that reads in grams tonight.

According to a local breeder my snake is about 7 weeks old.

I don't have a length yet but her weight is 109g.

Is that a healthy weight for a baby norm BP?

Here is her on a big paper plate, on the scale. And yes the scale was tare'd.

Btw, I got my SO to hold her for the first time today! Big score considering she wouldn't even let me buy one, until I simply brought one home lol. She is terrified of snakes.

Here's the moment in all it's glory!

Ive had snakes since 09 amd my girlfriend has not touched any reptile of mine except my crested gecko and leopard gecko but shes considering holding my mojave boy since he is not as squirmy as my corn and cali king. And she hates animals and now loves them.

When I brought my girl home at about 6 weeks she was around 120g. Seems like yours is a good weight. It all also depends on how quickly the breeder can get them to take their first meal, and how often after that they feed them. Some breeders don't feed the ones they know they will sell as often as their keepers to keep expenses down.

Congrats on getting the SO to handle your.. pet (it was VERY difficult to word this statement in a way that couldn't be misconstrued)

Lol, I've already noticed some misconstrued phrases muttered on this forum, and they are funny and always welcome lol.

I was just so glad that she held my snake! I hope she holds my snake more often! Lol ;)

And glad to know she's a decent weight. I'll keep ya all posted on her growth.

How much gain is healthy? I don't want to "power feed" her, but I like her to put on as much healthy weight as possible...

    Re: First weigh in!
She looks good weight wise. I have a 6week old bumblebee that weighed in at 99g before her last feeding a couple of days ago. She took a week to get started so it sounds like your girl is right on track.

As for how much is healthy, it all depends on the snake. Some grow quick and others don't. As long as you are feeding an appropriate sized meal every 5-7 days, she should grow just fine.
