acurite indoor outdoor thermometer (how it works)

I know when I first used this thermometer I was confused on the probe placement and exactly how the device measured temps and humidity. Just wanted to share for others that may have the same question(s). Their is a button on the thermometer that will allow you to see both the indoor and outdoor temp at the same time.

one more question, for me, I have a mesh top so it isn't completely sealed cage as is nobodies obviously for ventilation, but how much does that mess with the actual temperture inside our snakes cages?

This is kind of the pitfall when it comes to glass enclosures, it seem like you almost have to restrict the ventilation to keep humidity and temps correct (good reason to go with a T8 or a PVC like enclosure). For me, I removed my tinfoil from the top when I got home each day from work, for an hour or so, to try and make sure fresh air was consistent and prevent stagnate air from building up.
