What in gods name

So I work graveyard and was sleeping today I woke up around 5 pm and my baby ball python who I've only had since Tuesday and he's my first snake. Well I woke up and check on him and he had all of the aspen pushed around and both of his hides completely flipped over. I am wondering if anyone has had this. He seems rather healthy. I fixed every thing went outside for a few minuets and cam back and he had already started moving his warm hide. He is a petco ball :/ no breeders in my area with decent prices. Should I be worried about him being sick or having mites? Is it possible he is trying to shed? There's not much rough surfaces, as his hides are cardboard and there's a fake plant and a plain water bowl.

All mine shed fine and they only have a water bowl and paper towels.

I believe he is shedding he has skin coming off the tip of his head there isn't much for him to scrape on since he is In a tub set up

It sounds to me like he's a perfectly normal baby ball python trying to get used to his new home.

You should see some of the creative things an adult will do to a new enclosure!

If he is trying to shed, you'll know it. His skin will be dull and wrinkly and loose, he'll look awful. The thing on his nose could easily be where he rubbed it trying to escape. All ball pythons do that to some degree when settling into a new home. It's usually nothing to worry about.

Keep an eye on him, but try not to worry too much, I'm guessing he's fine.

hes shedding.... however not in one peace as i have found parts throughout his habitat not to much surprise. i did notice the eyes change the other day. Humidity is normal around 80% but since we had a cold front come through the air had dried up to about 70%. ill spry a little water around him to see if that will help the poor guy. anything i should do to help his shedding along if he dost get it all himself? new to ball pythons and am relived that he is just having a bad shed and not some bigger problem you would expect from petco baby balls. cant blaming for tearing up the place.... when i get a sunburn that starts peeling im rubbing on the walls lol.

Humidity sounds a little high. I keep mine in the 55-60 % range.

If he's having issues shedding, your humidity is not high enough. Sounds like your humidity gauge is off.

I have bare tub set ups with nothing but a water dish and my snakes all shed in one piece. Its probably just your humidity.

Normally I would agree, but the OP has only had him since Tuesday. My bet is the BP is still rehydrating from being in pet store conditions. I would not raise the humidity any further, at least not until seeing how the next shed goes.

Soak it overnight in a small container with a little bit of water in his cage. Chances are by morning he'll be done with his shed. Not too much water, but enough for him to soak.
