Watching them dig is a great sight to see. Hard not to smile while you're watching.

More dirt. Doesn't look deep enough to completely burrow.

Re: Burrowing monitor
I'm adding some more but he has room. Right now he burrows under a rock.

I remember your other thread when you first got the sav. Keep everyone updated, I love seeing pictures. Also it gives people a chance to make suggestions which always helps us all create the best environment for all our animals

Re: Burrowing monitor
I sure will. He has grown twice the size since I got him. I'm gonna start making a photo journal on here as we progress with him. And I appreciate constructive criticism.

Love that lizard heinie!!
Monitors seem to go nuts when they have dirt the first time.
My Wilson dug so much that he fell asleep mid-swipe... and would wake up just enough to push his foot through the dirt ONE more time, then fall asleep again. He's never really dug a proper burrow but he loves to dig!

Re: Burrowing monitor
Looks great! Our Sav, Frank, loves to dig constantly. He prefers to dig in some loose cypress mulch in one of his corners. Keep up the good work and we look forward to seeing more pics!
