Removed from eggs but not done laying?
I have a girl who has laid, but she looks like she has a slight lump still a bit up from the cloaca. I did not pull her off, just incase she was not done, I figured I would give her until I came home from work in a few hours and hopefully she will be no question about it done. I was wondering though, if you were to pull her off and she was not done, do you put her back in with the eggs still in there (will she return to coiling them and putting the remaining egg with the group?) or can I remove the eggs she has already laid and let her lay the final egg?

Just curious if there is a normal way this is done or if it matters or is it just a personal preference.

Leave her alone. Do not take her eggs away from her before she is done, that’s just cruel.

That's the thing, I am not sure if she is done. I would not intentionally pull her off knowing she is not done just to get the eggs she is currently on. The issue is if I take her off thinking she is done and she is not done, what is the proper thing to do? Will they go back to their eggs after being pull off them?

This was my first year breeding and I guess I got so nervous I thought my first girl was done laying so I took her off the eggs and put them in the incubator and then when I was cleaning her up to put in a clean tub I noticed she had another egg In her so I waited for her to lay it and went thru the whole process again and put her in the rack no problems but I was mad at myself. Lesson learned.
