Why does my burmese python exhibit signs of ri after he eats? He arches his back by his lungs and sometimes puffs his throat. He just had a great shed and he takes his food everytime. But after everytime he eats his does this for a few days and things stop. Its really stressing me out. Everything is perfect, temperature and humidity.

It's probably just what he does. I know I just took my carpet python to the vet because every time he coils around things he makes a wheezing noise and the vet said it was just something he did. Similar to when cats purr

exhibits what signs of an RI? if he's just huffing with no mucous or bubbles or open mouth breathing i wouldnt worry about it. it took me forever to get use to my retic "talking" to me. he huffs all the time. for a while it was stressing me out because i thought he was sick but it's just how he "talks."

Mine too, I took her to the vet at one point because she was huffing so much. The vet gave her a clean bill of health and complimented how good she looked, he didn't even charge us!

Yeah i dont understand why he does it, he takes deep breaths in and just elevates and arches his lung area, freaks me out. But then after like 2 days he goes back to his normal self
