    Trouble keeping heat mats on
So, for our heat mats, I like to cover the sticky portion with 1 layer of tin foil & just tape the heat mats to the bottom of the snake tubs instead of applying them directly. This makes it far easier to take the heat mat off when I need to wash all the tubs.

HOWEVER, I am having one hell of a time keeping the damn things on lately! It's driving me bonkers. :rolleye2:

Currently I've taped strips of duct tape on them to keep them up, but even that has only lasted a few days before it starts peeling and falling. ISN'T DUCT TAPE SUPPOSED TO FIX EVERYTHING?! Any tips or tricks?!

You could try foil tape, just make sure the tape isn't close to the probe from the thermostat.

I agree, the foil tape works great. I do the exact same thing with the aluminum foil on the back and just using foil tape to hold it there. The reason I do it though is because I do rescue work, and often need to move an UTH to a different tank based on the size of the snake when I get a new one in. You'll find it next to the duck tape and such; I get mine from Walmart.

The problem with duct tape is getting hot will cause it to lose it's stickiness. I've tried to use it to keep a plastic cover together over the cruise control on a F-150 and it kept loosening up. Foil tape is sort of reflective on one side and it holds very well, even with heat.

    It's something like this:
