Hide or not to hide?

I have seen several rack systems that use hides and several that do not. Why do you have hides or why do you not use hides?

Since they no longer use them I have removed hides from most of my animals, however a few still have one.

It has to do with the animal itself and the type of rack provided.

To me it's better to offer one and have it not being used than not providing one and it being needed.

If you provide one and the animal does not use it all you have to do is remove it.

None of my hatchlings get hides.

Once they move into the larger tubs I give them a hide, if they use it, they keep it. If not, I take it away. 1 less thing to clean!
