    What scale do you use?
I had a good one awhile back and for the life of me I can't remember the brand. I know some scales are off quite a bit and others are more accurate.
In case they have several different options, I only have smaller snakes, so I don't need to go into lbs or anything, grams only is fine and I say this because some dual weight systems are more expensive then something that only weighs in grams.

    EDIT:
I was looking at a Digital Food Scale 5Kg I think it's called and can weigh up to 5000 grams, but I don't know how accurate it is.

I got one off amazon, 500g weighmax it says its called. Its on I check it every now an then an seems close to right on all time even after being dropped more than once ha. It comes with a bowl that works for my balls up to 2000g. My big girl an carpet I gotta get creative to keep them on it. Mainly the carpet she doesnt stop moving. I also have an old school one I use to weigh rats for S an Gs when im feeling extra blah about the freeze off work.

I'll have to look it up and see how much it costs. I'll mainly be using it to keep fine tuned data on my snakes, weight before and after feedings, the weight of the food items and the whole nine yards. I just want to do this just because really. Then another thing is two of my RBS, I can't tell the difference between, or rather I haven't had them out together long enough to pay attention to a major difference because they're pretty quick and don't like to sit still like my smaller one. If I could manage to get them out or when they finally calm down I'll be able to distinguish a difference.

I paid less then 20 for it I know. Ive used scales for random crap for way to long ha I like this one if I drop it things pop off an pop right back on. Came outta box weight right an has yet needed recalibration. I wish it weighted down to .00 of a gram but food scales dont seem to go that low unless you shell out more.

Starfrit slim glass kitchen scale is my fav. It is reasonably accurate. The question is how accurate does a scale need to be? Well for most of us not very a few grams here and there is not going to matter much. The feature that does matter for most is repeatability the same weight should always read the same thing over and over.

I think breeders need to have accurate weights and therefore need to spend more on better scales, typically shipping scales or lab scales. Kitchen scales are often a few grams (1-3) here or there but that is likely close enough. Detailed specs will show the precision of the scale.

    for example mine,

(mine was 1/2 price on sale this is too much IMO for this scale)
accurate to 1gm up or down.

    higher accuracy

You pay for that 0.1gm up or down accuracy. I would say only breeders need be concerned with accuracy as they need to deal with different scales rather than only one.

If it's slightly off that's not a problem. I just don't want to weigh the same thing twice and get two different weights. The weight between my two older RBS aren't that big of a difference so I need to be sure which I'm weighing so that way I can properly document it. That's my main thing.

I use this one, and am very happy with it! It seems to be very consistent and accurate.
