    Het Red Shed
One of my brothers was dumb enough to leave his camera in my truck, so I've claimed it as my own (until he notices).

It's a Nikon D3100 and I have absolutely no idea how to use it, but Vimes just shed and I'll be damned if he isn't lookin' mighty fancy these days.
More or less every picture I took is terrible, but I'm showing them to you regardless because YOLO

This first one is the only one that kind of turned out and is the best representation of his real colours

Any advice on how to use this thing?!?! I have no idea what the settings are and I was just turning the lens because it felt more pro, I don't know if it actually helped focus

Move the dial on the top of the camera to the picture of a flower (for close-ups) or Auto. Screw the lens to frame your shot and click away! It's that simple! Very nice beginners camera.

Your photos you posted are BEAUTIFUL!!

Ok, thanks! There's this dial a bit above and to the right of the screen that I was moving around, but I have no idea what it was for... any idea?

Nope - I don't use this camera - I have a Nikon d5100 (I think) and the dials are the same. You may be looking at the focusing frame. See if hitting the 'OK' button on the back of the camera centers the 'dial' you are seeing move around on the screen. If it does, then, Yes, that's showing where the focus is. Without getting into the specifics of the camera, I can't tell you how to stop the camera from 'jumping' around on the focus. I just keep hitting the 'OK' button to re-center it.

You might try googling the camera make, model and owners manuel and see what you get.
