ditching the terrarium

So the past few weeks have been an epic battle; temps and humidity inside the terrarium are good. The problems being; i had to ditch the foam back wall since my little girl kept finding ways behind it, also the climbing the wires for the TSTAT and Temp probe...

I am thinking about ditching this setup for future snakes and going tubs; what would be the correct QT sizes for hatchlings-adults. Any charts out there?

Construction looks simple enough with plastic shelves though, i suppose i could go full custom and just build the shelving myself.

What I do...

Hatchlings - 6qt - (move them up to a 15qt once they outgrow the 6qt)
Adult males - 32qt
Adult females - 41qt


edit: not really a chart, but animalplastics groups their racks by age of snake...i.e, hatchling, juvenile/hatchling, adult, etc, and includes recommended tub sizes...

Awesome thanks, seems like they dont make anything to house a juvy, and then adult in 41qt size.

I have a 1755 series that uses the 32qt sterilite tubs and it's perfect for juvy's and adult males...I usually only hold back a few babies each year, so once they outgrow the 6qt, they go into a 15qt until they're big enough (300-400 grams/3-4 months old) to go into the rack with the 32qt tubs...

And the females that go larger you chose a 41qt, thats a sep. rack ?

Just remember ambient temps in tubs can be difficult to maintain. Often it is held with room temps, there are a few other ways but the safety is suspect.

A dedicated room is definitely the easiest. I use a spare bedroom and being able to keep the ambient temp higher than normal makes it much easier to keep the tubs at the correct temp ranges. People also use spare closets and it seems to work well, although space is tight...

Yes that is the easiest and best. It can depending of the situation add considerable expense.
