Beyond buying a specific morph; what would i need to produce axanthic?

Also i have a shot towards these snakes

    2011 female Pastel - about 1100 Grams $400.00 obo

    2012 male pastel Het pied 500 Grams $ 250

Spider ball Python Male 1000 Grams $350

Any suggestions? i have a very young normal female (have to assume not het)

To make anything axanthic, you need at least het axanthics. No other way to do it. Axanthic is a recessive gene, it takes 2 copies, one from each parent to make more visual snakes. It doesn't matter if it's just axanthic, or axanthic and another morph, it still takes 2 copies of the gene to make more.

The shortest way, and they way with the best shot of making more is to buy 2 visual animals to breed. The next best chance is to buy 1 visual and 1 het. The longest shot, which is also the cheapest, is to buy 2 hets.

    Pieds are recessive as well.

Any way i can tell if the Pied is really het pied???

I could breed the pied to the normal, and then back to produce pieds correct?

Correct. However, it would be a good idea to swap some of the het pied babies for someone else's het pied babies to minimize inbreeding.
