    Why can't I find vermiculite??
OK where the hell is everyone finding vermiculite and perlite sans Miracle-Gro for an egg tub? No one told me that they pulled it from all the big stores, and that Miracle-Gro is the only brand that is sold at Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's Fred's and Tractor Supply Co.

Do I have to buy online? And if so where can I get it quickly?

Also, will cypress mulch work as an egg substrate? It seems to retain humidity extremely well, doesn't mold, and doesn't stay wet to the touch, at least not on the surface.

I need to know because I'm running out of time and I was not prepared for this. The sphagnum peat moss that I used last year has Miracle-Gro in it and I do not want to use it again.

I get mine from a hydroponics supply store. You can also get coconut coir real cheap from places like that too.

I don't know what part of the country you live in,(I am in Tennessee) but I just bought a big bag about a month ago from Home Depot, and it has nothing else in it.

I had the same problem as you I could only find the kind with fertilizer mixed in. so I ordered some from reptile basics. not sure about shipping to where you live but my stuff comes in 2 days whenever I order from there.

That's exactly what I use in my egg tubs. Any reason why you don't have it at your local Lowes? I know you said they pulled it, but did they say WHY they pulled it?

Do you have any feed stores around you? We have a local feed store that always has some in stock.

Go to a greenhouse/nursery/garden store, I'm using this and it works great.
