    Woma Python photo shoot
Here we go guys, have a new keeper coming in the morning to pick up their first snake, so I've been busy finishing my reptile display area, and taking some photos while I clean. So I decided it was a good time to bust out the Woma Python and show her off for those who have not see her, or those who have been been exposed to Woma Pythons, the beauties from down under. Here we go! Enjoy

And lastly and my favorite. . .

And while I'm at it . . . my Dwarf Genetic Stripe het Purple reticulated python girl, who was literally glowing today!

Heh actual mirror ;) not an effect as much as a technique! And it's really growing on me. Attempting to photograph my entire collection on the mirror over the course of the next few weeks as many many things shed out.

Awesome pictures, and you'll have to explain to me how you get the pictures like that. All dark and what not. I'm assuming you use an expensive camera?

    Thanks guys,

@Neal, it's easier than it appears. When you shoot in a room with the mirror in the middle of the room to keep light from teaching the surroundings too easily when you use flash guns, you control what the backing appears as. Most of the light from the mirror will be reflected at such an angle that it does not reflect toward the lens thus under exposing it and making the background appear black. The light that you hit the snake with will reflect back at the camera and show through.

My camera settings are usually ISO 100, exp: 1/200 and f stop 22. I then use manual exposure on my flash guns and balance them around 1/2 and 1/8 power levels positioned accordingly.

Here's a look at what the set up is:

The camera is a canon 5D Mk II with a 100mm f2.8 macro lens attached and wireless flash remote on top (90ex to be exact).
