Can a snake choke on prey
I went to an expo this weekend and apparently I have been feeding my 38 inch corn snake too small of mice. I was feeding him 6 rat pups and they said that I should feed him hoppers that are like 1 and a half time bigger than his widest part. What do you think, is it too big?!?!?

I like to feed slightly bigger than the biggest part so it leaves a bulge in the stomach.

Snakes can't choke because of their handy dandy glottis which can stick out like a snorkel and allows them to breathe while their mouth is full.

What I would be worried about with a too large prey item is the snake being able to digest it properly and not leading to a regurgitation.

    Hope this helps!
