Questions on permits and certificates with snakes

So I decided to take my hobby to the next level and start selling online.

I emailed my fish and.game and this what he had say.

No license needed. :cens0r:But you will need to do import permits and health certificates for animals coming into Idaho and for animals going out of state. :cens0r:We can talk further if needed.

Is this pretty normal, seems like a lot of work. Does anyone have to do this? Is he confused with a ball python and a Burmese?

So i spoke to fish and game today.

He said ball pythons don't need any special permits, that is good.

He did say that every animal, even cats and dogs, need to have s health certificate when they travel state lines.

K. So, who actually even does this. I have never heard of this.

Do any of you guys do this, have every snake you sell checked out by a Vet before you ship

Some states require that any animal being shipped be checked out by a veterinarian and given a written bill of good health less than two weeks prior to the actual shipping. The specifics, or even if this is actually required or not, varies from state-to-state.

A lot of big breeders state on their websites that prices include health certificates if the buyer's state requires it. I've personally never gotten health certificates for animals before shipping (I live in Tennessee) but I've likewise never had a buyer say they require it.

So whether or not people actually abide by this law is a totally different story.
