    Parents and Snakes!
Lol my parents are so sketchy on snakes and said if I can save up for one I can buy one but they want nothing to do with it, for all the people who live with there parents how did you get your parents to let you keep your snake? And for all you who moved out did you parents let you keep snakes?

I'm confused. It sounds like your parents have given you their permission, but they just don't want to be responsible for your pet. Are you just looking for similar stories?

x2 I'm confused. They said you could have one but you just have to be responsible for it.

And when you move out you can do whatever you want hahaha

My mom cared less about my snakes since we were a "pet heavy" family, my step dad hated snakes but didn't care much if he didn't have to deal with it. but i have not lived with them in a long time, but if for somereason i had to return to my moms place for any reason my snakes would be coming with me.

It's not a solid response in better terms.

My dad is intrigued about my reptiles, but doesn't really want much to do with them. My mom will occasionally peek into my room, but if Magnus is visible at all she'll run away. Basically, what I do with my space is my business, and as long as they don't have to do anything aside from turning off lamps, they're ok with my animals.

It probably helps that I acquired my animals before I had to move back home. If I had to ask them if I could get a snake, the answer would have been absolutely not. But I bought Magnus with my own money and when I had my own apartment. So they'll not tell me to get rid of him.

They clearly gave you the go ahead, just before you get the snake, get all the necessary housing stuff for the snake. You don't want to get a snake and not have money to get everything for it, so make sure you do that prior.

Also when I was younger I asked my mom, she said maybe, we'll see. Which normally that means it'll keep getting pushed off until I forget about it, and of course my dad didn't want me to have a snake, so I did the only logical thing. I called and ordered my snake regardless. When it came in the next day my mom got curious about it, and after I let it sit for a week and then started handling her, my mom really started to like the snake, even wanting to hold it. Then it's been uphill from there.

    EDIT:
One of your parents if not both may feel the same when you get your snake in, you never know. Just hope that it never bites one of your parents as somebody who is not a big snake fan will really dislike the snake if it were to bite them.

After some agreements I was allowed to have one when I was 15. Unfortunately the little guy passed and I didn't get anymore while I was still living with them. When I moved out I got back into snakes and my parents don't seem to mind (though I'm sure they think I have too many). They'll ask how they're doing and see them when they visit and comment on how pretty/big they are but they won't hold them or anything :P
