Feeding size.. a little too big okay?
Last week I fed my ball python a hopper mouse at 12 grams and it seemed rather small. My spider ball was 92 grams when I took him home and he looked thinner then he does now. After that meal he plumped up a bit. I went to buy another mouse today and the hoppers seemed smaller then usual. So I got an f/t adult mouse at 20 grams. Is this to big? It took him longer to eat but he got it down fine.

If you're on a 7 day feeding schedule it shouldn't be an issue. Just don't make prey being 20% of the animal's weight a constant habit. Some say it's really hard to over feed a baby ball python. They digest pretty fast at that age.

In most cases if the food is way to big they wont eat it. Ive never had a snake choke, although I suppose it could happen. Just go with a food iteam that seems good for his size you may even try feeding him rat pups so he doesnt get stuck on mice. I fed all my young ones 2 rat pups a week.

I don't think they can choke. The opening of their windpipe is at the front of their mouth.
