    NorCal Reptle Events
    Hey everyone

I hope this is the right place for this; I was trying to find out where in Northern California there were reptile events...

I know there is the reptile expo in Sacramento every year, but does anyone know of any others?? Im about 40 Miles north of Sac, an would probably be willing to travel about 1-1.5 hours to get to a show/sales event.

    Thanks

There was one this past week in the east bay, in Pleasanton. :-) It was tiny, but it was also their first ever. ^_^ It was fun.

In July I'm going to this one-

    Thanks for letting me know.

How do you find out about these?? Should I scour the internet with google searches, or do you just hear it from your friends/fellow herp enthusiasts??

EDIT–And unfortunately Im gonna be out of state on a missionary assignment during that time....

Noooes! Too bad. :( What kind of assignment, may I ask?

And yeah, pretty much. :) There are a few sites out there that keep track of all reptile events in the US. Good to keep your eyes open, and use google often. :D :gj:

(hopefully I wont get in trouble for posting this lol)

My family and I are Jehovah's Witnesses, and we go every year to the midwest states to help out congregations back there that are too small to cover the area assigned for them to preach in. Other times we actually preach where it is so remote that there are no congregations that are even assigned to preach!!

This year we are heading to South Dakota. Its nice back there (go see it if you get a chance).

Thanks for the insight; I'll be sure to start looking around

O.O I thought so!! I'm one of Jehovah's Witnesses, too. :) Have fun in the unassigned territory, and hope to see you at upcoming shows.

Here's a list of all the Reptile Show and events:

    http://www.reptilechannel.com/reptil...le-events.aspx

There are a few NorCal shows:

    1) Sacramento - September 28-29
    2) Lodi - a few weeks ago
    3) San Jose - July 20-21
    4) Plesanton - a week ago
    5) There's one in the North Bay, but I cannot remember what it's called.

It's nice to know there are some "local" types here.

There's not a lot going on around here really, not compared to back East, it seems.

But you've been told about a few that seem like good shows.

We missed the Reptile Breeder's Show that happened in Lodi in April, but hope it'll happen again. The Bay Area Reptile Expo was last weekend, as said, in Pleasanton. Small, but first year, so bound to grow. It was good, all the same. There's the San Jose show in July (which we'll miss due to Comic Con). And of course there's the big Sacramento show at the end of September.

We are probably also going to try to hit the big show in Anaheim the weekend before the Sac show. Not Norcal, but should be exciting.

Yeah. Other than the Sac show, the Socal shows tend to be a lot larger and more eventful.

The Lodi show was pretty small, but had nice animals. It was their first year too, so it's bound to grow.

Thanks; Do you know if the Sacramento one is any good??

I looked at their website, and it seemed like it wasn't really geared towards animal/product sales...more towards education and teaching little kids about reptiles.

Im not against that in any way, but am just wondering if it provides an accurate sampling of the reptile breed industry...

Also, do you know if the prices are comparable to what would be seen at most shows, and are any of you guys selling there??
