    Rainbow Boas......cost?
    $139.00
Is this a good price for baby Rainbows? A local pet store just got two in and I'm pretty sure I need to have one of these in my collection. I held one that was about 3-4 ft. long awhile back and knew I would own one someday. I think there is a 50% off coupon for reptiles in my pocket, too! Thanks for your help!

It's a decent price for a pet store. My local big box has them marked at "normally $250, on sale for $150" right now.

If they let you use the coupon that would be a screaming deal.

Make sure you get a proper enclosure for it right off the bat, otherwise you'll constantly be fighting to get the humidity correct.

    I haven't priced BRBs in a while.

They are needed in your collection. They are amazing snakes :)

I believe at all those reptile shows I've been to lately they were between $120 and $160, I was playing with babies and they were SO CUTE!!! I want one :/ Anyway, yes, sounds like a good deal and if they really let you use the 50% off that would be nuts cheap. Let us know if they do!

I can only comment on Brazilian Rainbows. Not sure which you are looking at, but those tend to be the most common followed by Colombian. I generally see prices of $100-150 for normal Brazilian babies depending on how bright and clean their pattern is. Hypos and anerys jump up quite a bit in price from there as they are less commonly seen, and I think fairly new to the trade. So, $139 is a fair price, and if you have a half off coupon then it's a steal. Just a nugget of advice from what I've learned from my one young Brazilian Rainbow, humidity IS key as you will read everywhere. My little guy didn't want to eat or would regurgitate a day or so after eating until I got it right. I recommend either a substrate like shredded coconut husk (which mine would bury himself in) or something else that holds moisture really well. Or, as I switched to because I thought he was ingesting too much substrate at feedings, a hide filled with damp moss and a hole just big enough for it to get inside. I used a 16 oz deli cup and lid, cut a hole in the side, and filled it with loosely packed damp moss. He spends most of his time in there, but he hasn't regurged since and sheds nice and clean.

Well, I didn't bite on them with my coupon (which would have been the same outcome), but I did wait until they had their reptile extravaganza this last weekend and bought them both at half off. Two rainbows for $150. They are absolutely amazing, and they are more docile than my BP's. My collection is now up to 4 snakes. Can't wait to have more!

By the way, what are these BRB's as far as morphs/gene's go? Are they considered the "normal" of the BRB world? And how many morphs are there?

Very nice! We got this lady last week - she needed a soft landing as her owner has some personal issues to deal with.

Locoken: Wow! you got those for $75 each?? I've seen "poor" quality go for $75 at some shows. Personally, I think they are gorgeous and you made out great. From pics I've seen they could be "normals" or "oranges" if you want to go by a morph. Though I'm a novice at best with BRBs and don't own one so someone else would probably have better info. I will definitely own 1-2 BRBs at some point in the future.

bcr229: Awesome pic, wish it was a little more close up of her pattern/color. She looks phenomenally gorgeous from here. :)
