Finally !!!!!

My little dude finally ate a rat !!!! Got my male Albino as a hatchling last July.
He was a great eater when I first got him. Went from hopper mice, to adult mice, to x-large mice,
then I attempted to switch him to small rats ..... he wanted nothing to do with them.
I tried all the tricks , but to no avail. So I was feeding him 2 x-large mice, every 7 days.
He stopped eating at the end of November. I kept offering him food every week, but he had no interest
whatsoever. So 3 weeks ago, he shed, and started getting active. 2 weeks ago, he finally took a regular adult mouse.
Then last week, he took 2 regular adult mice. (the reptile store has been out of x-large mice) So he has been
really active/hunting at night this past week. So I thought I would try a small rat this week. They didn't have any really
small ones, so I took a fairly good sized one. I put the rat in the snakes cage, and WHAM ! He grabbed it right away,
and constricted it, and ate it pretty fast.
Hopefully he will keep taking small rats, so I don't have to feed him multiple mice every week!
I am so proud of my little guy !!

Congrats! Now, just don't offer him mice since you know he'll eat rats and he's golden!

Isnt it an awesome feeling when they do that? I have a little butter female whos gonna be a year next month, and she was an eater from the start. She pounded mice...and pounded more mice. I offered her a small rat one day, and she ate it! I was like finally! Then...she stopped eating altogether for a few weeks....and now she will only take mice or asfs. Wont touch rats at all. And shes like 700g+. Oh well.
