    incubator set up help
im new to breeding, but after owning these guys I cant help but get excited about the possibilities of awesome morphs... now my biggest is a female pastel that's only 330 grams, soo I have plenty of time to prepare. I first want to try my spider and lesser to see it I can get a queen bee (which is how I was told by a breeder to make) I already have extra tank setups, but I don't know what would be the most effective way of dealing with the eggs... I would like to try maternity incubation... but with a first time mother and my first clutch I think using a incubator which can be controlled manually would ensure the best results. so before I go out and just buy what im told is the best equipment id like to hear from everyone what they have had the best results with and the best way to control the climate and leave less to chance, thanks! ~boosh

You have a long way to go man. Those girls will take at least another year or two before they will breed. By then, you will probably have about 10+ females and need to build an incubator.

Here is a pretty cool incubator...

I have a very large deep freezer that I converted into an incubator. They are easy to build. Heat, fans, an enclosure that is sealed and insulated (an old fridge/freezer), thermometers and a thermostat is all you really need. They can be as large as a walk in room, or as small as a cooler for soda. Same concept.

was that just painted wood he used to make the shell? and I know I have a lot of time I would just rather have it ready for when I need it and not have to rush

I'm a fan of the setups people make using a cooler...you can find youtube videos of that pretty easily or search this forum. I know it's been posted about recently. If and when the time comes that I need to upgrade from hovabators I'll probably go that route. I can't move around refrigerators too well with my messed up shoulders.

Your breeder was mistaken. A queen bee is spider + lesser + pastel. Unless you mean the get a lesser bee and then breed it to the pastel.
