Why multiple males?

Newbie question....why do breeders use multiple males when breeding? Does it not make it difficult to know which male is actually the sire? Maybe that is where the Maury Povich show comes into play!! I know there must be a good reason. Thanks.

We will do it if we aren't sure the first male is breeding, or if we just want a shot at both combos. We only do it with pairings where we know we will be able to figure out the genetics of the offspring though.

If you don't have preference on the outcomes breeding multiple males to a female is never a waste, so long you do it right (for example you do not want to breed a pastel pied and another pastel combo to a normal female)

And if you're lucky you can even end up with double sired clutches.

Mystic and Enchi paired to a normal female.

My original plans this season were one boy to one girl, so I didn't have any "who's your daddy" clutches. Well, snakes don't like "plans". Some of the boys decided they weren't going this year, my star boy got sick, and some others decided they wanted to have a go (Grew up quick and were ready for action) so we have a few girls where we paired 2 boys to because of lack of visual locks etc. Making sure of course that each male was significantly different (Mojo & Enchi x normal etc)
