    Hey Rusty, how are you?

I was just wondering if you could give me some information on your Varanids.

Such as what their diet is, how big their enclosures are, and how tame they are.

What all do you have right now in your care?

My friend and I are making another 4x2x2 to stack on my current for my two baby Savannas and I have room for about a cage 6x2x2. Is there anything you have for adoption that could fit comfortably in this enclosure? I would love to Adopt.

Also have you worked with any Croc Monitors or Waters? How were they? What did you feed them.

OH YA. What have you fed your Savs if you've had any?

I feed my adult mice, dog food, crickets, cooked chicken, etc etc.

The babies eat strictly crickets, mealies, wax worms, and all are dusted. Also they get the occasional pinky and cooked chicken.

    Thanks,

    Don Meyer

    Hello Don,
In our care right now we have many species of varanids including argus, nile, & waters.
    We have rehabilitated many species.
Our enclosures are custom built to each animal. For instance our Female Nile is housed in a 8' X 6' X 5' enclosure which includes burrows and a filtered water system for her.
Our varanids get a varied diet depending on the species. We use a diet that is comparable to what many zoological institutes feed. We in no way use dog or cat foods (they are not comparable by any means to their diet, IMO)
As far as adopting from us, I do believe you are too young to fit our criteria. Thou I do support your ideas about adoption. If you would be interested in adopting and feel you can prove yourself worthy. Please let me know if you would like help finding a rescource near you. (I would just need to know what state you are in).
    Sincerely
    Rusty

    Awesome thanks!

I dont feel I could properly care for a Water or Nile...but an Argus maybe.

    I am located in Pennsylvania.

What is the age to adopt? WHen I hit that age I would love to help you guys out!

Also! The previous owner of my current Sav said she fed it dog food. Now you said you dont feed your monitors dog food. Woudl you advise me to stick to rodents and insects...with the occasional chicken and eggs?
