What kinda water do you use in your MistKings system?
Title pretty much says it all.
What kind of water do you guys use for mist kings sprayers? Should I just use tap water and consider assume I'll need to frequently clean/change the heads? It just seems like a tremendous amount of distilled water to buy on the regular. Guy from my local fish store recommended hooking up a brita-like filter to my sink before potentially doing so, and I guess that would help.
Just looking to figure out what the majority of people out there really do.
Cause filling up a 3x 7 gallon buckets with distilled water I buy from my supermarket is insane. :rolleye2:

But I live in an apartment. I've seen RO/DI units for fish tank drip systems, but they constantly produce the stuff. I'd need something that I could produce like, a limited amount in a short or pre-planned period of time. I think being in an apartment rather than a house makes this generally difficult.

Mind if I ask how you worked together all of those buckets? And how you arranged drainage for it?
I have a hard time keeping up with filling my five gallon bucket and dumping my drainage bucket.

That's what I'm saying, I mean, I don't think I can put an RO/DI unit in here cause they constantly run.

Be careful, RO water is fine, but RO/DI water can actually cause just as many issues with the misting heads as mineral buildup does over time. The water is actually so pure that it pulls away small amounts of the heads over time.
RO/DI also isn't considered safe to drink for the same reason Even drinking RO water can cause issues.

I would recommend an auto shut off kit on each bucket. If either one gets full enough to trigger the float it will shut off the entire system. (They're cheap)

Is using tap water *that* bad? How often will I be cleaning/replacing the heads if I use it?
