    purpose of water bottles
    Bored at work...mind is wondering...
what is the purpose of having water bottles in an incubator? One would assume humidity but that doesnt make sense, since they're sealed. Do they help hold the heat or what? Also, can you have too many or too little water bottles? are they even necessary?? just wonderin while my brain is wanderin...

They help it stay at a constant temp BC when you open the door the hot air escapes. It warms back up faster with the bottles.

    Easy enough...
I have about a full case in the bottom of my wine cooler and I can NOT get my temps to stay constant throughout, even when i close it and don't touch for three days, it's still about 10 degrees hotter near the top than near the water bottles :-/
It's frustrating because I want my girl to lay, but at the same time I feel like it's a race. I got the 'bater set up about two weeks ago and have yet to get it where I need it. I'm glad I decided to set it up as early as I did, and I had hoped to have any/all kinks worked out by now, but that's just not the case :-/

Get a fan in there and you'll solve your problem.

You need a fan to circulate the air.

I had one at the top, switched it with a bigger one, and have added both together..all to no avail.

The top fan is about 1/2inch from and blowing downward, the bottom fan is about 1/2" from the surface and blowing upward..any suggestion about the placement of the fans?

I believe one of the best methods is to point the one fan blowing straight down at the heat source to evenly disperse the hottest air all around.
