    What female should I buy?
So I currently have a beautiful male mojave and as I originally bought him as a pet, why not get another (yea i keep saying that and im gonna end up with a horde of bps >_<)and try out breeding when he's of age. I plan on attending my first reptile show on the 19th and I would possibly like to get a female there. Any suggestions on what to buy? I want to get at least a two gene morph, maybe something with butter in it (I like butterbees and butter pastels). I'm open to other suggestions tho (i think the morphs i like are a tad out of budget lol) and I'd like to see what else I can make. My *planned* budget is $300, but there's possibly $400 in case of emergencys. So help me out guys :D

(And just an extra question, I have a unsexed normal that's 300-400g now, any suggestions to find out the sex? Iv never popped or probed or whatnot before :/)

Ask a breeder who knows what they're doing to sex it for you.

Female black pewter for <$400? If you're really really lucky. I've been looking and have yet to see one under $500. Males yes, but not females.

OP, if you like butters you can also look at lesser combos. They're essentially the same morph.

I would go on WOBP and just look at some combos, find stuff you like. Mojave is really nice in anything, IMO. I would recommend a bumblebee, as mojave spiders and pastaves are both smoking for two-gene animals.

I agree with this. As sad as it is, lesser combos are generally cheaper than butter combos even though they look very, very similar. You MIGHT can find a pastel lesser female for less than $400. However, with that small budget, you may can only afford a single gene animal.

That is an interesting observation because I feel like I see the exact opposite when it comes to Lesser vs Butter combos.

As for the OP, you will be hard pressed to find female combos for under $400, although I did get my own female Black Pewter for $450 so eh, but with that kind of a budget I think you'd be looking at either Lemonblasts, Pewters, or Bumblebees. Not really bad options if you pick up a really really nice example but obviously they aren't in the Butter/Lesser bandwagon. If you want a combo with those genes then start saving up because I think you should probably have at least $700 to play with but if you're only thinking about breeding in the future then it probably isn't imperative that you go buy something new right away. Take your time, save, look around and when you find the right snake you will realize that the waiting was all worth. Like, I really wish I had some of that kind of self control when I first started picking up BPs.

Thanks for all the replies! Bumblebees actually were my favorite morph for a while but iv seen a lot of dirty bees that lose all their yellow when they grow :/ that is definitely an option if i can find a nice clean clean girl though. Butterbees are absolutely beautiful to me but I'm not sure on the present price b/c on iv only seen them on kingsnake with hypo or het hypo which raises the price. I also love how y'all ignore my *planned* 300 budget xD I actually found a very pretty pastel butter on kingsnake for 400 but I'm hesitant to buy because I want to experience the reptile show first. Are those the places to buy as far as more affordable snakes? No shipping is obv a plus.

Well, people were probably ignoring your initial budget mostly because you just aren't going to find many combos for that price. $300 is really low here and you pretty much are only going to be getting low-quality morphs.
As for where to buy, I really don't think the arenas themselves have the biggest impact? I've gone to a decent amount of shows in the past and there's a very wide gradient in terms of price so in terms of where to find the best bargain, I think the only factor is how hard you are looking. People are also usually more open to haggling prices at shows so long as you're within reason.
