    Breeding season 2013
    I’ve waited for this season for some years now, and I just have to share my excitement. I’ve breed only three females this year, since my other males are too young but that’s okay, more time to get the females older and bigger.

    I don’t have anything superfancy stuff, I only have basics and I really want to produce my first combo and so far I have a chance to get one.

    First out is my lesser female, she’s been breed by a spider and one-two times by a cinnamon during the winter but mostly the spider. She obviously has read a breeding ballpythons book, since she has been on time in every step. She had her pre-lay shed 16/17 days after ovulation, and laid her eggs 27 days after pre-lay shed.

    I palpated six follicles and she confirmed me by laying 6 eggs. 2 of them were slugs, but I palpated correct so I’m happy. Need to experience some slugs too ! The eggs are on day 9 so it’s still a long wait.

    My other pregnant female is a normal 100% het genetic stripe, unproven and the most exciting breeding this year. Really hoping for some genetic stripes ! Either way, I will probably get some neat looking normals, since both parent are really good looking snakes.

    The female 100% het GS;

    And the male 100% het GS;

    And the last female, a Mojave, is really glowing and have been breed by cinnamon, mostly, and a few times by a lemon pastel. Hoping for a two sired clutch, with combos both ways. She seemed really big when I checked her earlier today, thinking she may ovulate or has ovulated. Time will tell.

    And just a pic of one of my albinos, need a genetic stripe for future breeding plans, albino genetic stripe is an awesome morph.

    I'm very excited for you. Keep us posted! I'm a few years behind you. All my snakes are yearlings except for a male Genetic Stripe and two females 100% Het Genetic Stripe. I couldn't wait three years for my females to 'grow up', so I splurged and got this trio. They too, are young. All virgins but breeding weights. Hoping they have the maturity to breed this next fall. My 800+gm male (Speed Racer) is still eating and ignors the females. :taz:

    Andy-

    I’ve waited for a few years myself, and finally the time is here :)
    A trio og GS and het GS is not bad at all.. GS is one of my favourite morphs so I really hope the pair prove out.

    Well, today is day 24 after pre-lay shed, and the het genetic stripe female is laying her eggs. Didn’t expect eggs so early but here they are :D She is not done laying yet, but when I checked I saw two healthy eggs and one slug. Very excited about this clutch :)

    Well, that just sucks!
    Get the bad luck out of the way to make way for nothing but good luck next time. Here's hoping next year they give you all Genetic Stripes!
