    next to a normal normal

she laid 8 eggs, 5 went bad, and 3 hatched, got 2 males that look just like her except their eyes are noticeably silver and green, and a pastel female who is way cleaner and brighter with more flames than anything else my pastel male has ever produced. I don't doubt the pastel is also two gene.

as you can see, the two boys are not much darker than the pastel, and are much lighter and brighter than a normal baby.

    and those funny belly stripes.

So I know the mom is either codominant or dominant, because she proved out. I'm pairing her with my lesser because my best guess is that she's on the BEL spectrum. Would love to hear other opinions.

She looks like a fire to me from the first picture. The babies are certainly different, and I can see a little bit of fire influence there as well. The one boy baby is almost certainly a fire. He looks very similar to my own fire babies, just a little darker yellow. The pastel could possibly be a low expression firefly.

I would try her with either a fire or vanilla, because those will be your surest bet to find out. But I myself see fire in her. Maybe not a typical fire, but I still see the influence.

I am trying to think what snakes on the BEL complex she would resemble, but it's late and I'm not coming up with anything at the moment.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater silver eyes on baby boy, he is getting lighter and brighter with each shed

i just took this one and it is blowing my mind how bright he is next to his pastel-something sister.

I was thinking she resembles a mocha? an adult mocha? or a het russo? if she is a fire i would be absolutely thrilled, and if my baby girl pastel is a firefly i would be even moreso. Fires and lessers are my favorite base morphs.

I have to agree with Gale. My first thought was fire.

    I see a normal and a pastel.
No firefly either, looks like a decent pastel imo.
No head spot, wrong belly pattern for a fire.

i see what you mean by fire in the female but honestly i don't see it in the offspring. i agree with Jerry....2 normal babies and a normal pastel. momma is definately pretty though, just not seeing her in the babies. :confusd:

I don't know. Maybe I've been looking at fires for too long huh guys? I still see a little bit of fire influence in that one boy. Not both, just the one.

Mamma ovulating looks so much like the normal I bred to my fire male it's spooky, but mine is just a normal. It is possible yours is just a super hot normal girl like mine. She doesn't have the classic fire look to her no, maybe what I am seeing in her is her resemblance to my own normal female that I just had to make fires with. That might be what I keep coming back to with her, the longer I think about it. I hope you don't mind me showing you what I mean with her.

This is her, she is a normal, but what a normal!

Can you see why I think she looks like your girl?

This is her in ovy, this one looks even more like yours:

I really think the fact that your female looks so much like this girl, who made a nice clutch of to-die-for fires for me, is why I keep think fire with your girl. Perhaps not because she is, but because she would make such amazing fires.

wow she looks great glowing like that. I wish i could get better pictures, or that she will make something cool (BELs?) with my lesser male this year. Will just have to wait and see.
