I cleaned and dried my carpet and left it out in the sun today, thankfully it got up into the 90's ^_^

Popped it in and it doesnt smell! So finally my set up is done and can find me a snakey ^_^

What kind of carpet are we talking about?

Its an outdoor carpet I got instead of lizard liner. Tightest weave I could find at Lowe's.

Judy suggested the other day to put em out in the sun and I think that did the trick after washing them ^_^

Glad that problem is fixed. Did you get the thermostat working okay too?

Hooray! Now a couple of days of monitoring temps and humidity and you're good to put a snake in it! :)

The thermostat is still iffy. I don't think it is broken or anything, I just think I haven't figured it out yet. And as for the carpet, I have this feeling that it is transfering heat over to the cold side cause the cold side is getting pretty warm now o_O Though it could just be that its getting 90* outside >_<

That's why we have to tweak a good bit before we feel good about putting an animal in a setup. The good news is, once you have it figured out for your environment, you have a good starting point for setting up your next enclosure. :)
