    Help me sex my snake!
I've had one of my balls for 8 years now, and I still have no idea if Monty is a he, or a she. So my question is: is there anybody on here from the North East Ohio area that would be willing to teach me, and show me how to properly sex a Ball Python? I have my own set of probes, but lack the confidence to probe him, as I've never done it before and do not want to risk hurting him/her. And as a hopeful breeder one day, it would be an invaluable skill to learn. So if there is anybody here willing to help, please send me a PM and we can set something up.

After watching countless videos about probing, including the awesome video stickied on the Husbandry forums. I decided to give it a whirl.

I did like she said used water as a lube, and gently place it into the cloaca. As she said it slid right in and I didn't have to use pressure. It stopped and I pulled it out. I tried it a few more times to make sure it was okay.

I'm gonna call it, Mr. Monty is actually a Mrs. Monty. I'm 90% sure at least.

But still, if there are anyone around Northeast Ohio who knows how to probe, I would like to be 100% sure, if someone wouldn't mind teaching me.

Not at all no. But I've also been told that with older snakes, popping isn't the best or the easiest thing to do with them.

This is true, adults aren't as "squishy" lol. It sounds like you did the probing perfectly.

I really hope I did, because I know what can happen if done incorrectly, and that would be my worst nightmare. I just wish I had an adult male I can try on so I can see the difference. I may go again tomorrow just to double check.

Can you provide the link for this video? I'd like to perhaps give it a shot. I don't know the sex of my BP, either.
