Ball breeding in the future
I was having a discussion with my wife about morphs yesterday while on a 12 hour road trip to pick up a few BPs in North Carolina. She was saying how amazed she was at the variation of colors and patterns that she saw at the breeders and it brought to mind something:

That's a common carp. Nothing special about it, it's been used as a food source in Asia for hundreds/thousands of years. At some point in the undocumented past, however, some Chinese carp farmer noticed a fish that seemed a little more gold than the others. Centuries of selective breeding have given us this:

Thinking about that really makes me excited to see what the future holds for BP morphs. Breeders have only scratched the surface of what can be accomplished, and I think we're going to see some truly astounding animals emerge in the next few decades.
